San Anselmo, CA., October 30, 2012 Dana King, the Emmy- award winning broadcast journalist and anchor for KPIX, recently joined the Sunny Hills Services Honorary Board of Directors. The appointment was made in recognition of her long-standing support for Sunny Hills Services’ work to help vulnerable children and youth.
Sunny Hills Services, founded in 1895, is a private non-profit organization that operates an array of programs throughout the Bay Area. The Agency strives to engage vulnerable children and youth, enrich their connection with family and community and empower them to lead healthy, rewarding lives. In 2012, Sunny Hills Services will serve more than 1800 children and 650 of their family members and caregivers.
While Ms. King is well-known for her dynamic on-screen presence, she is also a talented sculptor, passionate advocate for education and children’s rights, the arts and humanitarian efforts. As a long-time supporter of Sunny Hills, Ms. King has been Mistress of Ceremonies at several of its galas, including “Wine Women & Shoes,” the Agency’s popular flagship fundraiser.

Dana King has been a News Anchor at CBS 5 since 1997. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Ferris State University. She is the mother of two college age children and she is currently working towards a Master’s Degree in Classical Sculpture from San Francisco’s Academy of Art University.
