Josh has been with BAYC for 17 years, serving as Executive Director since 2002. Not only has he been the visionary and leader of the organization as it transformed from a group home provider to a multi-service organization and through its merger with Sunny Hills Services, but he has been a leader in developing the array of services available to youth transitioning out of foster care in Alameda County including co-creating the State -approved plan that brought the Transitional Housing Placement Program to the county. Josh has a long history of advocacy, serving as the plaintiff in “Leonard v. Wagner” in which the San Francisco Superior Court held the State of California was illegally discriminating against foster youth with disabilities. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Alliance for Child and Family Services, is the co-chair of the Alameda County Child and Family Service Network, is a member of the Alameda County Children and Family Service Department’s LGBTQ Workgroup and the Alameda County Inter-Agency Children’s Policy Council Steering Committee. Josh has a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley. |
